Story behind the bean
The Caturra Rojo is well known and cultivated around the world due to its climate adaptability, high yields and high quality. It is short in stature and does well in full sun in California coordinates and climate. The fruit ripens to a deep red and its flavor boasts of tropical fruit and honey.
Good Land Organics' Caturra Rojo has proven itself on the table for many years now, debuting in 2014 by landing a top 30 spot for Coffee Review. It has consistently scored in the high 80's to low 90's and has been said to taste like some of the best coffees coming out of Central America. The coffee is balanced and clean, has a bright acidity that stuns industry professionals, and a lasting sweetness as it cools. In fact, sweetness is our most consistent claim to success with coffees grown in California. We've learned that our beloved Caturra Rojo's cup profile is representative of both this farm and our burgeoning region.
