GROWN IN CALIFORNIA

Longtime FRINJ fans will recognize Finca 1890. This farm, located at just 60 MASL in the foothills above Carpinteria, grows some of our finest Geisha and Catuaí Rojo. That pedigree is on strong display in this Catuaí Rojo.

This particular lot is a sister lot to the traditional washed Catuaí Rojo released earlier this year, and an echo of the fan-favorite yeast washed Catuaí Rojo from our 2024 harvest. Like that coffee, this one is slightly wild, with an almost effervescent streak of red fruits, recalling raspberry, cherry, and pomegranate jam floating over a velvety chocolate ganache body.

Cherries were hand-picked at peak ripeness, floated to remove defect, pulped, inoculated with yeast, cold fermented semi-anaerobically for 88 hours, and then laid to dry on raised beds for 10 days to a stable moisture of 10.2%.
