GROWN IN CALIFORNIA
In previous years, Condor Ridge Ranch Cuicateco scored an incredible 92 points from Coffee Review.
This year’s crop is very much in the same vein. It’s spiced, with notes of apple cider and milk chocolate. It reminds us a bit of Mexican hot chocolate—perhaps an unconscious association, as Cuicateco is a seldom-seen variety that comes to California via Oaxaca.
This Cuicateco was grown at Condor Ridge Ranch, the first and oldest coffee farm in California. It is our most prestigious estate, which was recently recognized internationally by being featured at the 2026 Dubai Coffee Auction. It benefits from a unique coastal microclimate that, combined with its low elevation and high latitude, creates growing conditions equivalent to high-altitude farms in the tropics.
Cuicateco is a rare Sarchimor hybrid originating from Mexico and cultivated in El Salvador. It is a resilient variety that produces exceptional cup quality when grown in expressive terroir like at Condor Ridge.
