This coffee comes from Finca 1890, a farm located in the foothills above Carpinteria, a classic southern California beach town in south Santa Barbara county. The farm is located at just 60 MASL, an impossibly low elevation for high-quality coffee production by international standards. Despite this, the farm produces some of the finest and most in-demand coffee in the FRINJ network, such as this traditional washed Catuaí Rojo.

FRINJ fans will no doubt recognize this coffee as being one of the standout lots of last year. This new version features the same coffee albeit processed in our newly employed “traditional washed” method, which employs the native yeasts and microbiome of our coffee processing facility instead of ones added during fermentation. The result is a clean and sweet Catuaí that pops with notes of cherry, orange, and milk chocolate.
