LaurinaLaurina - Washed
Laurina is an exotic coffee varietal, celebrated for its distinctive low-caffeine profile—about 50% less than typical Arabica coffee. This natural mutation of the Bourbon variety was first discovered on the French territory of Réunion Island.
Originally known as “Bourbon pointu” due to its uniquely pointed beans, Laurina has more recently been dubbed “Leroy” (meaning “the king” in French) and “Laurina” (a reference to the Laurel tree, which it resembles). These royal monikers hint at Laurina’s reputation, as it has been a favored choice for dignitaries like Winston Churchill and French President Jacques Chirac.
Our Laurina is carefully cultivated on the sloping hills overlooking California’s Santa Barbara coastline, which has a terroir that emphasizes the coffee’s complexity.
