Which Brew Method do you recommend?

FRINJ Coffee can be brewed many different ways, but most people choose a drip brew method. This can include a pour over or auto drip, which is similar to a pour over. We also have people that enjoy French Press and Aero Press. One of the fun things about fine coffee is the ability to explore different brewing methods that fit your style and your palate.

Do you sell decaffeinated coffee?

No, we do not sell decaffeinated coffee but we do sell Laurina, a rare coffee which naturally offers about half the caffeine content of a typical coffee. It is wonderfully sweet and spicy and perfect for those who want to experience fine coffee with a lighter caffeine content.

When will I be billed to the coffee club?

We bill on the 10th day of each month.

When will my order be shipped?

We are roast to order so to ensure the freshest coffee we ship within two days of roasting.

Does FRINJ Coffee source beans from Certified Organic Farms?

FRINJ Coffee sources beans from both certified organic farms and conventional farms. We encourage all our farmers to pursue organic practices and utilize sustainable methods.

Which forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

Do you offer gift cards or discount options?

We do. When you get to the payment section of your order there will be a discount code field. Please enter your code and the total price will adjust at the final payment page.

Where did the name FRINJ come from?

FRINJ is a name that Jay Ruskey came up with years ago. The name is defined to be on the edge but still connected to the main body. Jay feels that what we are doing with coffee and crops is the cutting edge and FRINJ represents that well. Also, the spelling is a tribute to Jay’s poor spelling.

Do you ship to my country?

We ship with in the United States and Canada.

Can I unsubscribe from your email blasts?

Yes, email us with “unsubscribe” in the title of the email or click on “unsubscribe from this list” at the bottom of the email you received.

What sort of email blasts do you send?

We send email blasts twice a month, which showcase our newest coffee offerings and FRINJ events.

How should I store my coffee?

It is best to brew and enjoy your coffee within three weeks of receiving it. If longer, we recommend that you store it in a cool and dark place.

Can I buy green beans to roast at home?

FRINJ occasionally does green bean sales. Please register here and we will contact you when they are next available.

I interested in reordering coffee, but it is no longer available. Will it come back?

All FRINJ Coffee is unique and each experiences seasonality due to small lots or high interest. We intend to bring our coffees back each season, but cannot predict when.

If I order more than one box, will they ship together?

Yes, we will try to bundle multiple orders together to make the orders more efficient to ship.

When is the coffee harvest season?

Coffee in California is harvested in the summer months, from May to September.

How many FRINJ farmers are in your network?

We work with more than 70 farmers throughout California.

Are you Fair Trade Certified?

Fair Trade does not operate in California, but our coffees are well above the Fair Trade standards.

Do you sell to any retail coffee shops?

We occasionally sell to retail coffee shops for a limited time, including Golden Line Coffee In Santa Barbara and Saza Coffee in Tokyo.
