CaturraCaturra - Washed
If there’s ever a coffee to reach for on a cold day, it’s this California-grown Caturra. From the first sip, we were taken aback by its autumnal flavors—cranberry, baking spice, and molasses. This lot was grown using tunnel shades, which is a technique often used for tomatoes and berries but rarely for coffee. These tunnels allow precise control over growing conditions, creating outstanding flavor in the cup.
Caturra, a natural mutation of the Bourbon variety, was originally discovered in Brazil in the early 20th century. Known for its great flavor and compact size, it’s widely planted across the Americas. This particular Caturra comes from the foothills of Ventura County, a region whose rich soil produces some of California’s best citrus, strawberries, and now….coffee.
