Condor Ridge Ranch – Geisha – Lot 02Washed - Goleta, CA

Condor Ridge Ranch is the first and oldest coffee farm in California. Previously known as Good Land Organics, it is located in northern Santa Barbara county and benefits from a unique coastal microclimate that is ideal for growing tropical fruits not typically seen in California. This, combined with its location 12 degrees north of the traditional coffee belt and an incredible amount of care, produces what we consider to be our Grand Cru coffee: California Geisha.

Lot 02 of this washed Geisha makes for an impressive cup. Expect crisp jasmine-laced florals, layered with a plummy stone fruit acidity. Its extraordinary balance is carried by a silky mouthfeel, leading into a sweet, lingering finish.

The coffee was picked at peak ripeness, floated to remove imperfections, and carefully de-pulped. It was then fermented for 72 hours before being fully washed and slowly dried to a stable moisture of 11% over a span of two weeks on raised beds. We then mill, classify by size, and hand sort the coffee using SCA Green grading standards.

This is the kind of coffee we pour when people ask why we grow coffee in California.
