Rancho Arroyo Alamar Geisha Lot 02Geisha - Washed

This washed Geisha is our second offering from Rancho Arroyo Alamar, a farm located above the rugged Gaviota coast north of Santa Barbara. Fans of the first lot will appreciate how this showcases the way coffee from the same region can evolve as the season unfolds.

Like its predecessor, Lot 02 delivers a beautifully balanced profile of complex florals and exotic fruit that is emblematic of the world-class geisha grown on this stretch of coastal California.

Geisha (or more properly “gesha”) traces its origin back to Ethiopia’s Gori Gesha Forest, where its seeds were first collected in the 1930s. However, it wasn’t until 2005 that Geisha gained global recognition when it broke price records at the prestigious Best of Panama competition and auction. Today it continues to be prized for the exotic cup that it provides—something that clearly shines through in this Californian example.
